Health, Safety, Environment & Community
OPL is committed to preserving the environment and providing safe and healthy working conditions which are essential to our core values.
OPL operates an Integrated Management System (IMS) to ensure that all foreseeable risks are managed to ‘as low as reasonably practicable’ (ALARP) standards.
Our emphasis on occupational health and safety alongside environmental management ensures we nurture a business that is not only safe for our employees but also our neighbours and the surrounding environment.
To mitigate the risks associated with our operations we adopt a systematic approach in the ongoing maintenance and management of our equipment and operations. This extends to any modification activities we may need to undertake. Effective barriers are required throughout the life-cycle of a project and ensuring their durability will enable us to deliver enhanced operational capability and sustainability.
The public and our neighbours in particular may have questions about how our activities affect their environment and we are committed to answer those questions. We operate in sensitive areas and we are committed to preserving our landscapes and work closely with planning and all other statutory authorities and local people to minimise the environmental impact of our operation.
Our assets are managed in accordance with regulatory requirements, set out by the Oil and Gas Authority (OGA), the Environment Agency (EA) and the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) in addition to best practice standards set out by industry.
